Kranitz Enterprises, Inc. :: Computer Software
RC FlightDeck Version 2.0
Kranitz Enterprises, Inc., a leading software developer in the radio control hobby space since 2001, has announced the release of RC FlightDeck Version 2.0, which has all the makings of a ground-breaking advancement in the way event coordinators and pilots manage and register for events. This is the very first system to do a whole list of things that this hobby previously did manually or very inefficiently through spread sheets and discussion forums. Clubs and large event organizers have been jumping on the system. At the time of this release, more than 500 organizations had enrolled on the FlightDeck system.
Kranitz envisions RC FlightDeck unifying the entire flying hobby around a single syndicated event network so that event promoters can post their event once and have it seen on hundreds of partner websites that host the free FlightDeck event module. Pilots would no longer have to dig through discussion forums to locate events; they would simply visit RCFlightDeck.com or their favorite website that hosts the calendar to locate and register for events. Pilots who register for any event on the system never have to re-enter their information to register for any other event.
With the only search tools of its kind in the entire industry, RC FlightDeck lets visitors not only filter events as they type in a name, location or event category, but also stretch, squeeze or slide a graphical timeline that further filters events by date. More adventurous users can narrow their event search by radius, location, event host, sanction status and more. But the real power lies inside the event management tools. Within a few clicks, an event coordinator can print a comprehensive pilot list, an aircraft list, address label sheets, a pilot check-in list, and an announcer's sheet with pilot bios and aircraft. Event hosts can still accept paper registrations and quickly enter them into the system, which funnels the manual entries into the host's unified management system.
The system can handle any type of fee the organizer can dream up. You can create sales items for tents, tables, meals, t-shirts, whatever you can imagine. For sanctioned events, RC FlightDeck provides an automated tool that makes quick work of listing official AMA categories and any associated fees. Organizations can accept paid pilot registrations with funds going directly into their PayPal account. PayPal lets the organization accept credit cards and PayPal payments and it's highly secure.
The efficiencies continue beyond event creation and management to promotion. Posted events automatically propagate to hundreds of hobby websites in one click because any RC website is free to host the FlightDeck event module and events show up on all partner modules. The more sites that host the calendar, the more effective the network is at getting the word out on events. Kranitz strongly encourages vendors, hobby shops and other industry participants to host the free calendar. It gives your website fresh new content automatically and helps match your customers with events they might like to attend.
RC FlightDeck is hosted by FlyRC Magazine, Hobby Lobby, DuBro, 2BFly.com, Hobbico, Frank Tiano Enterprises, 3DForums, RCJetAddiction and hundreds of club websites that not only host the calendar but use it for their private club events.
The software has been simplified and advanced to the point where anybody with rudimentary skills can create a beautiful event listing or apply to fly in an event. Viewers can see nearby hotels, location facilities, a map, driving directions, AMA classifications, fees and more. Pilot applications are equally simple and hosts can specify the bits of information they need in each event application.
The service is free to both event hosts and pilots. To see how the Flight Deck System can help you plan and run your next event, download more information at www.rcflightdeck.com/FlightDeckForCDs.pdf.

McFarland & Company :: Books
American Military Transport Aircraft Since 1925
MSRP: $45.00 "American Military Transport Aircraft Since 1925" is written by E.R. Johnson, with drawings by Lloyd S. Jones. This work provides the reader with a comprehensive historical survey, including technical specifications, drawings, and photographs of each type of fixed-wing aircraft used by U.S. military forces over a nearly 90-year period to carry out the airlift mission.
Without the support of airlift, the modern American military machine would be brought to a standstill. Since World War II, beginning with the Cold War and continuing up to the present day, the U.S. armed forces have come increasingly to rely upon airlift for mobility. The power to rapidly move and thereafter support a military operation, anywhere in the world, at any time, has become a foundational element of American defense policy.
This 488-page softcover book is $45.00. McFarland titles are also available from all major e-book providers and library suppliers. For a complete list of e-book providers, see McFarland's website.

Marcy's Marvelous Wheel Chocks
(Catalog No. S842) Stamped from heavy duty aluminum, and anodized in an attractive red color, these wheel chocks come out of the package ready to install. The initial application for Marcy's Marvelous Wheel Chocks is obvious. You can mount them on the floor of a trailer, and they will grab your aircraft by its wire landing gear and hold the plane securely in place. They also work extremely well mounted to the wall of your workshop or garage to hold the plane safely off the floor so that gravity doesn't press flat spots into your tires. You can also use Marcy's chocks to keep your airplane from rolling around on the bench while you are working on it. Marcy's Marvelous Wheel Chocks can handle most axle sizes and will accommodate wheels up to 5 inches in size. These durable wheel chocks will fit almost any type of airplane and are built to last a lifetime. Mounting hardware included.
Depending on wheel size and gear angle, the chocks can go on either inside or outside of the tires, slanting in or out. Either way make sure it is a tight fit against the tires. The wheel chocks are not intended to hold the plane during engine break-ins or engine startups.
